Maria da Graça Carvalho and Kartika Tamara Liotard, MEP Rapporteur of the European Innovation Partnership on Healthy and Active Ageing, co-hosted the What IF International WII event at the European Parliament in Brussels.
The conference A challenge for Horizon 2020: Ageing and Intergenerational Fairness had the key-participation of European Commissioner Làszlò Andor, Responsible for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion.
Maria da Graça Carvalho, Rapporteur of Horizon 2020 and Patron of WII said during her intervention that "Horizon 2020 is one of the main forces that Europe has to tackle the many challenges we face... They are cross-cutting in nature like intergenerational fairness which calls for solutions that mix competences and ideas coming from the wealth of knowledge that Europe and its citizens have developed along these years".
During the conference was read the joint statement o intergenerational fairness signed by Maria da Graça Carvalho, Kartika Tamara Liotard and WII President Matteo Bonifacio.
