The MEP, Maria da Graça Carvalho, was one of the speakers, on February 28th, in Brussels, at the European Startup Village Forum, which took place at the European Commission.
She opened the event with the Commissioners: Mariya Gabriel, Janusz Wojciechowski and Elisa Ferreira.
In her speech, Maria da Graça Carvalho spoke about the Importance of Research and Innovation in Rural Areas, referring to the creation of the conditions to attract innovators and prioritising rural related R&I subjects. Moreover, she mentioned the relevance of Synergies of Funds and lastly, she gave two successful examples from Portugal: A pilot project in Alentejo and the Madeira Project - Ponta do Sol.
