The African-European Radio Astronomy Platform (AERAP) workshop on "Infrastructure Investment and Technology Development including Scientific Instrumentation for Radio Astronomy", took place today in the European Parliament.
On this occasion, Maria da Graça Carvalho held a meeting with Domingos Barbosa, radio astronomer at the Instituto de Telecomunicações in Aveiro and participant in this workshop, in which researchers from Europe tried to explore the possibilities for African and European partners to collaborate on infrastructure investment and technology development.
The resulting projects are going to contribute to implementation of the objectives of the Written Declaration 45 on "Science Capacity Building in Africa: promoting European-African radio astronomy partnerships" that was adopted by the Parliament in March 2012
Domingos Barbosa and Ms Carvalho discussed which support the European Parliament can provide to advance African-European cooperation in the field of radio astronomy.
