Maria da Graça Carvalho participated in the EUFORES meeting on "Can EU industry play a role in the global PV production?" that was held in the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
There has been a substantial growth in the EU market for PV. In spite of this, EU based PV companies have more and more problems to stay competitive to Asia based PV production.
During the meeting the participants analysed the reasons for the loss of competitiveness and gave ideas on what could be done at national and EU level to support EU PV industry investments.
Arnulf JAEGER-WALDAU, from the Joint Research Centre (JRC-ISPRA) of the European Commission, made an intervention about the role of the EU Industry in the global PV production.
