This is an area where Member States competences must be respected but the Union can give useful guidelines driving the national policies towards a common approach to many aspects of the future of employment and social policies. Among the most important ones there are also the need for a European Unemployment Benefit Reinsurance Scheme, the development of a framework on care services to set minimum standards and some important considerations about the need of addressing minimum income and wages in a common approach for all Member States. It is important to start thinking about the future changes in the employment trends, also looking at the impact of new emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and automation.
