If I can agree with the fact that the Parliament should be more involved also in this secondary legislation, the authorisation is not about cultivation of these genetically modified products, but only about importing and placing in the EU market. Science must lead our decision-making, and the Commission is basing this authorisation on what EFSA provided as technical and scientific expertise. An evidence-based legislation shall move from these considerations and I voted to reject the objection because only informed decision can lead us to do good policy-making.
