Maria da Graça Carvalho and Health Cluster Portugal organized a business breakfast on The Future of Health and Life Science Research in Europe - a Portuguese Perspective.
The event took place today in the European Parliament with the aim to engage Members of the European Parliament, European Commission Officials and Portuguese researchers in a discussion on European research and on the future of Health and Life Sciences research in Europe. Barriers of participation in European programmes and the contribution of Portuguese research groups to the building up the European Research Area. MEPs were acquainted with the excellence and impact of the research carried out in Portugal on the field of Health and Life Sciences.

The Health Cluster Portugal (HCP) has as its main objective the promotion and implementation of initiatives and activities leading to the creation of a national cluster for competitiveness, innovation and technology, with an international outlook and, as such, taking into account high standards of quality and professionalism, to promote and foster cooperation between companies, organizations, universities and public entities, with a view to increase business volume, exports and qualified employment, in the economic areas related to health and to the improvement of health care.
The Health Cluster Portugal is committed to contribute to increase the participation of the Portuguese institutions in general, and its Members in particular, in European Funding programmes, including the 7th, as well as the following, Framework Programmes.
