Maria da Graça Carvalho was invited by The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) to participate in a high level stakeholder workshop on Europe 2020 - Designing research for Europe in a changing world.
The focus of the discussion was social sciences and humanities research in the European context.
Maria da Graça Carvalho participated as a speaker in the panel discussion on "Society, Culture and European Added Value". In the quality of rapportteur for the Specific Programme, Maria da Graça Carvalho made an intervention on the forthcoming Horizon 2020.The other participants of the panel were Wolfgang Mackiewicz, Freie Universität Berlin; Paul Boyle, Science Europe President; Günter Stock, All European Academies (ALLEA) President and Milena Zic-Fuchs, European Science Foundation, Chair of the Humanities Science Committee.
