On the 8th of October 2019, Re-Imagine Europa (RIE) organised the second edition of the Brussels Science-in-Society Salon on the topic of “Science, Democracy and the Future”.
The event, hosted at the European Parliament by Maria da Graça Carvalho and Andrius Kubilius MEP saw the participation of Commissioner Carlos Moedas and brought together fifty leading thinkers from across Europe with different expertise and backgrounds in order to discuss the possible implications on society of genome editing in agriculture.
The event was structured as a high-level salon to allow for real exchange and debate. In order to allow for real debate, certain parts of the debates were held under Chatham House Rules.
