In an opinion article in Público, EPP MEP Maria da Graça Carvalho wrote about the COP25 climate conference. The author announced that MEPs who attended the conference met European Climate Foundation CEO Laurence Tubiana. As defended by MS Tubiana, Ms Carvalho believes that there should be a distributed leadership among governments, cities, non-governmental organizations and youth in the fight against climate change. In MEP Carvalho’s opinion, the European Green Deal and the European Council's approval of a principle of an agreement to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 was a response to the citizen’s call.
