During the plenary session of the European Parliament, the MEPs approved a resolution that urges the European Commission to take measures regarding a common charger for mobile phones, tablets, and other portable electronics, Expresso Online reports. The proposal was approved with 582 votes in favour, 40 against, and 37 abstentions. MEP Graça Carvalho, one of the rapporteurs of the resolution, said that “the matter of the common charges is important not only for the life of the consumers, but also for environmental reasons”.
