EPP MEP Maria da Graça Carvalho returns to the European Parliament after five years in the European Commission, Vida Económica reports. Ms Carvalho was elected EPP vice-coordinator in the EP Committee for Industry, Research, and Energy. “I am proud of having my colleagues’ trust,” said MEP Carvalho. In her previous passage through the European Parliament, MEP Carvalho was the rapporteur of the Horizon 2020 programme, which allowed doubling the funds for the Portuguese science. In the European Commission, Ms Carvalho acted as adviser to former European Commission president José Manuel Barroso and as senior-adviser to Commissioner Carlos Moedas.
