Press Future for European Research: 71 recommendations for simplification to be properly implemented

Maria da Graça Carvalho MEP participated at a Hearing devoted to the Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development, which took place in the European Parliament today.

The Hearing was opened by the President of the European Parliament, Jerzy Buzek MEP, and chaired by Herbert Reul MEP, Chairman of the Industry, Research and Energy Committee of the European Parliament.

Maria da Graça Carvalho, Rapporteur for simplifying the implementation of the Research Framework Programme, moderated the panel on the follow-up to simplifying the implementation of the rules with regard to the funding of research and innovation programmes.

According to Ms Carvalho, her Report - which was adopted with a significant majority in November 2010 - marks "the beginning of a difficult road ahead. Now we have to make sure that our recommendations are properly implemented. A fair degree of progress has already been made".
