Explosions that damaged the Nord Stream pipelines have shoved critical infrastructure into the limelight and added urgency to update the EU's directive on the issue. Europe's energy, water, transport and Internet need stronger protection with the latest technology, say the EPP Group's Maria Carvalho and Tom Vandenkendelaere. The EU27 need to better coordinate their efforts and strengthen efforts through NATO and other international alliances.
