In her quality of Rapporteur for the BUDG committee on Galileo, EGNOS, Copernicus and SST, Rapporteur on 'Horizon 2020' specific programme, Maria da Graça Carvalho participated as a speaker in the conference on EU Space Policy: What direction for Europe in Space between now and 2020?. She made the closing remarks on the panel EU Space Programmes: Prospective State of play. During her intervention Ms Carvalho said that "greater emphasis should be placed on granting access to the the sector on the part of small and medium-sized enterprises".
The event took place today in the Charlemagne Building of the European Commission and was organized by Business Bridge Europe under the patronage of José Manuel Barroso, President of the European Commission; Van Rompuy, President of the European Council and Martin Schulz, President of the European Parliament.
